Born Again by Faith?
A person is born again when God by his grace and mercy sheds light into the darkness of their heart (1 Corinthians 4:6), through the preaching of the gospel (1 Peter 1:23) and work of the Holy Spirit (John 3:8), causing them to be born again (making them alive). He then gives them the gift of faith (Ephesians 2:8) that enables them to believe upon Jesus Christ and receive him as Lord and Savior.
Born Again: What Must I Do?
A person has no control over when they are physically born, who their parents are, the country in which they are born nor their gender. All of these are sovereign acts of God. Likewise, neither does a person have control over when they are born again. Being born again is a sovereign act of God’s will and grace.
A Heart of Worship
Eating healthy and exercising is one way we can be good stewards of the bodies God has given us. However, in spending so much time and effort in guarding our bodies, I often wonder how much emphasis we put on guarding our spiritual lives.
The ultimate goal of our freedom is the praise of God’s glorious grace. It’s not so much that God has set us free to worship, but in setting us free He displays the glory of his grace; a grace that he sovereignly chose to lavish on us.
Watch Where You’re Stepping
Solomon wrote that it is far better to draw near to God to listen than to come with the sacrifice of fools. What is the sacrifice of fools? I believe it is the offering of worship without being obedient to the commands of God.
The only power I have to consider myself dead to sin I have because Jesus was crucified. And if I have believed on him for salvation then I was crucified with him so that I might no longer be a slave to sin.
The Glory of God
God’s glory is everything that makes up God; his person; his authority, power, sovereignty and infinite beauty. Everything that God is, his attributes (holiness, faithfulness, goodness, loving kindness, patience, wrath), makes up his glory.
The Glory of God in Salvation
We will never understand the glory of God’s grace in salvation nor will we ever understand the love of God unless we understand how totally depraved the human soul is. But, as depraved as the human soul is God chooses to save some in order to demonstrate the glories of his grace.
The Glory of God in Us
He (Holy Spirit) came to produce fruit in us so we would look like Jesus. He brought gifts to us so that we might do the works of Jesus. When you have the proper balance of the fruit of the Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit, you have a proper display of the glory of God.
The Second Coming of Jesus
Neither Jesus nor Paul, nor John’s revelation teach a pre-tribulation rapture of the church. Those who do teach it do so only with the pre-conceived idea that there will be such an event.
